Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea glabra) is a sun-loving ornamental plant prized for its vibrant, papery bracts in shades of pink, red, orange, and purple. Native to South America, this tropical climber thrives in sunny, well-ventilated spaces and rewards with spectacular blooms when exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day. In Singapores warm and humid weather, Bougainvillea is relatively low-maintenancejust water it 23 times a week and allow the soil to dry slightly between sessions. It prefers well-draining soil and dislikes wet feet, so avoid soggy conditions. While it’s not suitable for pets due to mild toxicity and thorns, its an excellent choice for balconies, patios, and garden spaces that receive ample sunlight.
