The Fern Ostrich King is aptly named – reaching 7′ in height. A commanding erect presence, shooting up from a bronze base to form a towering vase of fronds appearing plume-like. Prefers a neutral to alkaline soil unlike most other ferns. Spreads rapidly. The Latin name for this Fern is Matteuccia struthiopteris.
