Schizachyrium scoparium,or “Little Bluestem”is native to many parts of the United States. It thrives in poor, well-draining soils. In the garden, it is adaptable to almost any soil type (including clay), and makes an excellent companion for Black-Eyed Susans, Tickseed, and Coneflowers.
