A naturally occuring white version of scarlet rosemallow, this perennial boasts giant white flowers the size of dinner plates beginning in mid-summer. A real statement piece for the sunny garden, white rosemallow (Hibiscus coccineus ‘Alba’) blooms for a couple of months. Flowers are a favorite of ruby-throated hummingbirds, and the fine foliage resembles that of marijuana. Plants grow 5-8′ tall but die back to the ground every year. Although its found naturally in wet areas, we’ve found it to be tolerant of dry soils once established. Hardy in zones 6-10.
