Yucca torreyi – Torrey yucca

Yucca torreyi – Torrey yucca are shrubby to tall growing, long leafed plants native to dry rocky or grassland foothills of the Trans Pecos region of West Texas into SE New Mexico. Leaves are generally green but can take on a gray-green appearance with maturity. Long, 3ft. leaves display filaments that make plants look a bit fuzzy. Slow growing, but can have opportunistic growth spurts during summer months when moisture is available. Plant in well-drained soil and full sun. Water periodically when newly planted, especially during hot summer months. Little to no water is needed during fall and winter months. Cold hardy. Good drainage is key to long-term success.
