Asarum canadense
This native woodland groundcover is a lovely alternative to the typical Pachysandra or English Ivy in shady, moist locations.Spreads slowly by rhizomes to form a solid carpet of elegant, pale green, heart-shaped leaves that deer and rabbits won’t bother. The brownish flower, although not showy, is host to the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly.
