Yucca thompsoniana
Thompson’s yucca is a moderate to fast-growing, short trunked yucca native to the Pecos River region of west Texas. The green leaves are narrow, long and sharp tipped. They form a symmetrical round rosette of leaves about 4 ft. across. Often multi-headed. These yuccas are accommodating to different soil types and moisture levels, but good drainage is recommended. They flower like other yuccas with woody, branched stalks that stand 3-4 ft. above the foliage in spring to summer. Use these arborescent yuccas in mass plantings, as single specimens, around pools, patios, and any landscape that requires easy to grow and low maintenance plants. (Differentiated from Y. rostrata with softer, blue colored leaves)
